Doris passed on to be with our Lord and Savior on April 16, 2024. She was 95 years old, a native of Jonesboro, LA, and resident of Saraland, AL. She was a member of Celeste Road Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to be a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Bridges, son, Greg Bridges, parents, Jim Dark and Ethel Arnold; as well as her brothers Gene Dark, Charlie Dark, Ronnie Dark, and Jimmy Dark; and her sisters, Louise Rowton, Peggy Lawrence, Shirley Irwin. She is survived by sons Walter Bridges (Beverly), James Bridges (Nancy), Russell Bridges (Doris); sisters Sue Robinson (Clyde), Deborah Foster (Joe) and brothers Oscar Rhoades, and James Michael Dark (Sarah); sister-in-laws Diane Gunn, Millicent Bridges, Joyce Bridges; Grandchildren Chad, Rachel, Jamie, Samantha, Aaron, Wendy, Tyler, and Rusty; Great Grandchildren Chase, MacKenzie, Peyton, Kamryn, Timmy, Isabella, Madelyn, Isla, Cole, Austin, Caitlin, AJ, Anna Catherine, and Riley; Great Great Grandchild Samuel.
We’d like to thank the staff at Crowne Health Care of Mobile in the 200 Wing for the precious time you spent caring for our mother. The time you spent with her through this time of need means more than you will ever know. It is not every day that you find such caring and loving people.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. April 27, and funeral services will be begin at 11:00a.m. inside of the Radney Funeral Home Chapel, Saraland, AL (1200 Industrial Parkway).
