Chris was a licensed Professional Engineer. He retired in January of 2020 after over 20 years as a Process Engineer with Exxon Mobil. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Alabama. He grew up in Old Daphne with a love for all things Mobile Bay. He was extremely proud of his wife and two daughters. He was a devoted Auburn fan, husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother, father-in-law and friend.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Adele Garsed; a brother, Peter Garsed; and his beloved father-in-law, Nelson Scarbrough.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Monica Scarbrough Garsed; daughters, Alaina Joyce Garsed of Chattanooga, TN., and Caroline Garsed Whiting (Josh) of Opelika, AL; a grandson, Elijah Nelson Whiting; sisters, Rosemary Lambert and Mary Nell Trione; his mother-in-law, Barbara Scarbrough; life-time best friend, Michael Eberlein and his K9 companion Rooty.
Visitation for Christopher will be held at Radney Funeral Home – Saraland on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saraland, AL.
