Betty J. Parker

Betty J. Parker, age 89, of Axis, Alabama passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Betty was born September 25, 1929 in Macon County, Alabama to Maggie Thornton Adams and Julius Wesley Adams. Mrs. Parker served a Postmaster for 28 years. She was part of a group of people who worked and obtained a rural water system for the community. Betty volunteered on the Board of Directors, serving as Secretary-Treasurer and as President from 1971 until 1993.

Betty is survived by her son, Larry T. (Galedra) Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Parker; parents, Julius Wesley Adams and Maggie Thornton Adams; and granddaughter, Ashley Parker.

A visitation for Betty will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama 36571. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ellen Lesley will officiate.
