Albert Thomas Kemp entered into his eternal life on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Known as Tom Kemp to most he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Betty Kemp. Together Tom and Betty had 3 children, Michael (Mike) Kemp, Tracy Sexton (Kemp) and Mark Kemp. Tom professed his life to Christ at an early age and lived his life for the Lord.
Tom was born September 21, 1940, in Macon, Mississippi to the late Albert and Clara Kemp. He was one of five children. Tom was a long-time resident of the Kushla Community where he ran for Mayor of Prichard in the Kushla Civics league. Tom served in the US Army; he was also employed by International Paper company for 19 years where he also served as the Union vice-president. He later became a well-known business owner for over 40 years, while in business he created lifelong friendships and relationships.
Tom loved to read his Bible, visit with friends and family over a cup of coffee and listen to gospel music or watch FOX news in his spare time. Fishing was one of his most favorite hobbies.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Kemp, his father Albert Kemp, mother Clara Kemp, a beloved brother John Kemp, a sister Jean Aspinwall and oldest sister Sydney-Ruth as an infant.
Tom leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Mike, Tracy (Jesse), and Mark (Tisha); 5 beloved grandchildren that he loved dearly and 7-great grandchildren, one sister Dorothy Garner and many nieces, nephews, along with other close relatives.
The pallbearers named to assist in laying Tom at his final resting place: Steven Stacey, Robert Lee Jr., Jason Stacey, Ronnie Wigley, Russell Baker, Danny Gore, Vander Highsmith
The family would like to express a special thank you to the medical staff that cared for Tom for so long as well as express gratitude to Shirley Stacey for all the years she dedicated to being a caregiver for both Tom and his wife Betty. A special thank you to nephew Robert (Billy) Lee for always taking care of all immediate needs and tending to personal detail as needed.
Visitation & Funeral will be held at: Radney Funeral Home in Saraland followed by a graveside at Pine Crest West.
