Alan Ross Petty

Alan Ross Petty – a 76 year-old native of Mississippi and resident of Creola, AL passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Mr. Petty, a veteran of the United States Navy, served aboard the U.S.S. Independence. He served as an iron worker for many years, first in Montgomery and later in Mobile. Mr. Petty was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Odom Petty and Lillie Myrl Webb Petty; brother, James Alfred Petty; and niece, April Dawn Huot. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Myrle Huot, Hazel R. Zellers (Terry), and Geraldine "Gerrie" Griffin; nieces, Melody Eve Hunt and Donna Jean Vaughan; and nephews, Thomas H. Griffin, III and David G. Huot. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
