Born May 25, 1935 and passed away on November 20, 2019.
Survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Evelyn (Evie) Hernandez, Sons Sal Hernandez and wife Aurora, Anthony Hernandez and wife Carla; Daughters Sylvia Cardona, and Evy Hernandez-Reyes and husband Henry, 6 Grandchildren Denessa, Rene, Jocelyn, Michael, Erica, and Emily, and Great Grand Daughter Ciel.
Preceded in death by brothers Anacleto, Tony, Mike, Frank, David, and Benjie as well as by his sisters Juana, Consuelo (Chelo), Victoria, and Teresa; and son-in-law Max Cardona.
Sal was a member of Santa Paula High School Class of 1954 (member of the Cardinals basketball, track, and baseball teams). He also spent many years enjoying bowling and golfing. Sal worked in construction for 13 years and then became a long time employee of Montgomery Ward Department Store (31 years) in the Shipping and Receiving Department including as the Receiving Manager.
He had a passion for the Lakers, the Dodgers, and any movie with a Western theme.
Sal was a kind, hardworking Husband and a Father who was always generous with a smile and quick to enter a conversation with all.
