

John "Mike" Morua, 71, of Santa Paula, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was a beloved husband, father, and ‘Papa’ whose legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Mike was known for his warm heart, sharp wit, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He spent his life creating lasting memories and building strong relationships with those around him. As a husband, he shared a deep, loving bond with his spouse, supporting and caring for each other through every phase of life. As a father, he was a guiding force, always there with words of encouragement, advice, and a listening ear. As ‘Papa’, his granddaughter was his pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with her.
Mike's love for Santa Paula and the community was evident in everything he did. Whether through his work or simply being a neighbor, Mike’s presence was always felt. He had a generous spirit and was a steady, reliable friend to many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Christina, daughters Christina Morua, Stefanie Morua and Sarah (Paul) Villarreal, granddaughter Liliana, and sister Patti (Jay) Widdows, as well as numerous extended family and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Carmen Morua, brother Tony E. and in-laws Gilbert and Mary DeLao.
Mike's family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, and his love will continue to inspire and guide them in the years to come. While he may be gone, his family and friends look forward to sharing stories and memories of ‘Papa’ with his granddaughter in the years to come. Mike’s presence will always be felt. If you find yourself driving the Old Road in Santa Clarita and see a catch basin, take a moment and think of Mike.
