Guadalupe (Lupita) García Ornelas, 98, of Santa Paula, California, passed away on March 8, 2023 of natural causes. She was predeceased by her husband, Pedro G. Ornelas and son, Frank Ornelas. She is survived by her children Pedro G. Ornelas, Jr., Alma Ornelas-Divino (Ron), Jesse Ornelas (Tina), Rudy Ornelas, Maria Ornelas-Madrigal, Angelina Ornelas (Richard), Sylvia Ornelas (Greg), and Eduardo Ornelas. She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.
She was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico on December 29, 1924. She married Pedro G. Ornelas (deceased) on July 21, 1946, in Los Angeles (Boyle Heights), California. Lupita made and reached her many goals; she became a Naturalized US citizen when she was 30 years old, learning to drive, and sharing her love for learning as a Bilingual Teacher’s Aide. Lupita was a woman of great faith and long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with a passion for loving and nurturing her grandchildren and great children. She enjoyed music, laughing, gardening her roses, sewing, cooking, baking and entertaining. She would often prepare delicious meals as well as baked and decorated cakes for special occasions for her family and friends.
