William Rackstraw, age 92, left this world on July 27, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of San Jose, owner of William Rackstraw Cabinets for 50 years and manufactured kitchen cabinets for some of the new housing developments in the 60's and 70's throughout the San Jose area. He was a WWII veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 910th Anti-aircraft Artillery Battalion from 1941-1946. He was a Member of the American Legion Post 419 in Santa Clara, CA. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Sydney and Rose Rackstraw and brother, Philip. He leaves behind his devoted sister and brother-in law, Betty Jane and Challen "Nick" Nikolaus of Barboursville, West Virginia, other extended family and his many devoted friends whose friendship he valued. Bill will be honored in a military service at the Mission City Memorial Park, Santa Clara on August 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
