"Bob", 55, passed away in his Santa Clara home on January 6, 2014. Bob was born in Beckley, WV on June 14, 1958 and grew up in Prescott, AZ, where he excelled at basketball and the sciences. He graduated from Prescott High School and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University in June of 1980. After working at Lockheed and a startup company, Dawn Technologies, in the 1980’s, he spent the last 22 years at Silvaco, Inc., where he was a respected developer of software models and tools for semiconductor fabrication. Bob was a passionate follower of NASCAR, a devoted owner of his dog, Rammie, and someone who could light up any gathering with his sense of humor. Bob was very much loved by many and "808"will be dearly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard and Marguerite Cottle, of Prescott, AZ, and by his brother, William Dews of Shreveport, LA. He is survived by his soul mate, Tina Gould of Manteca CA, and her daughter Maryann Gould of Santa Clara; his daughter, Sarah Cottle of York SC; grandchildren Sienna and Bram Tucker of York SC; brothers and sisters-in law J Heber and Gwen Dews of Birmingham AL, Carmen Dews of Shreveport LA, Ken and Candy Cottle of Fort Worth TX, and Ray and Janis Cottle of Longview TX. He will also be remembered by many friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Bob’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1st at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony.
