Patricia Frances Marr, age 70 a resident of Seligman, Arizona passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 with her loving husband, Julius R. Marr, Sr. by her side at New Horizon’s Home in Chino Valley, Arizona due to a long battle with Ataxia. Patricia was born on January 9, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. As a child she loved to pick berries on her Grandparents farm. She moved to California in 1956 and completed her high school education at Buscher High School in Santa Clara. In 1960 she placed second in the Miss Santa Clara Beauty contest. She went on to marry Julius in 1961, later having two beautiful children, Renee Mari Marr-Sarmento and Julius R. Marr, Jr. She enjoyed going camping, photography, cooking, and attending Hot Rod shows. She had a fondness for Pepsi and Chocolate. Most of all she loved being surrounded by family. Her career consisted of working as bookkeeper for a couple of car dealerships, then promoting herself to Cupertino School District as Food Services Supervisor and then moved on to Milpitas Unified School District as a Fiscal Budget Supervisor, where she retired with over 25 years of service. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Helen Ballantyne and her sister, Virna Lee Gama all of San Jose. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Julius R. Marr, Sr., daughter Renee Mari Sarmento (Robert) and son Julius Ray Marr, Jr. (Maria) and four beautiful grandchildren, Karissa Sarmento, Austin J. L. Sarmento, Tristan J. S. Marr and Jenavi R. S. Marr. Patricia also leaves behind her brother, Robert Michael Ballantyne (Diane). Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, June, 14th from 5 to 9:00 p.m. with at Rosary Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd.; where the Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation can do so at the National Ataxia Foundation www.ataxia.org in Memory of Patricia Frances Marr.
