Dear Michael, you have always been a stellar example of a Catholic gentleman. So glad to see you also relished your roles as husband, father, and business leader. God has a reason when he calls us home. My hope is to someday share the Heavenly view you, no doubt, already enjoy.

Having just learned of Mike’s passing – I am so deeply saddened and shocked.   Mike was the consummate professional, mentor and above all – my very dear friend.  
Mike and I first met while at Santa Clara University as Accounting Major students After graduating in 1981, We then worked together at Arthur Andersen and maintained a close friendship over the next 40+ years.  We kept in touch – in person, phone or text – never missing a beat to wish each other a Happy Holiday, Bday or just to catchup on each other’s careers and family.  My last text exchange with Mike was just 3 months ago.  Mike would often generously take the time from his busy and successful CPA practice to share his amazing expertise around income taxes or estate planning with my wife Stacie and me.  A unique bond between Mike and I was our devoted appreciation for the humor of Rodney Dangerfield – and we would always strive to outwit the other with RD’s one-liners and gestures.  
My wife Stacie and I have been so fortunate to know the Kelly family and we extend our sincere gratitude to Mike and Yolanda for sharing their lives with us.  
A man with the highest integrity and especially the biggest heart -- that is the Mike that we so dearly miss right now and for the years to come.

I am so sorry for your loss. I send  love, peace and condolences to Yolanda and her family at this most difficult time.  Michael was technically my cousin in law  but he was much more than just a relative to me.  Michael was a dear friend. He was the best friend you could ever have.  Michael was always cheerful, caring and positive.  He never said a bad word about anyone. Michael has been a wonderful part of our lives.  Over the years we have shared many great times.  I will cherish memories of our shared family celebrations and holidays as well as our many trips and vacations together.  We had great times  camping at Big Basin and Yosemite, going to Maui, Las Vegas, Disney World and Disneyland.  We even got to have a fabulous dinner at the exclusive Club 33!   One funny memory I have is of a meal we had at a special restaurant in Disney World where their thing was to treat everyone like family and the wait staff would  “ call you out” on your bad behavior such as putting your elbows on the table. Near the end of the meal Michael mentioned that one of the kids did not eat their vegetables.  Well, Michael got called out for being a Tattletail.  They made him wear a dunce hat that said Tattletail and stand with his nose to the corner of the room while everyone in the entire restaurant shook their finger at him and said “Shame on you”.  It was hilarious good hearted fun.,,,,Part of what made this so hilarious is that in reality, Michael was never the kind of guy who deserved a “shame on you”.  If Michael was guilty of anything, it was of being  lovable , thoughtful and kind.  I feel blessed to have had Michael as a part of our lives.  He will be missed so very much.

Working with Michael the last year was truly refreshing and a privilege.  His care and devotion to his clients and to his work and his intelligence and professionalism were evident every step of the way to the end.  He displayed a level of respect and kindness as a client that is rare to find these days.  I can only imagine how this loss is hitting his family and loved ones and I am sorry for his loss on every level.

Dad at my wedding in Maui….

The pain of loosing my hero, physically takes my breath away. I will never understand why he was taken from all of us. My heart is shattered beyond repair. 

I could go on for hours and hours and hours writing about how perfect my Dad was to me but I won’t…
 I’ll just simply say that I was/am incredibly proud to be his daughter and I will miss him more than I ever knew was possible

To me, he is a legend that will never be forgotten. He will live on forever through his legacies.

Great memories of a trip to Green Bay to watch the Packers play.

Michael Kelly was my best friend in high school.  We played football together, literally 1 foot apart , as center and guard, on Bellarmine's championship team of '76.  Michael's Mom took us to our first R rated movie as 15 year olds, (The Groove Tube) and almost didn't let us go in...the 16 year old working at the theatre said "I think they can handle it" which made Mrs Kelly feel better. (We laughed about that for years.)  I was with Michael the day after he had his first date with Yolanda.  As the saying goes, "stick a fork in him, cuz he is done".  Michael was taken with Yolanda's charms from day 1, and I knew he had met his life's partner.  Michael raised a beautiful family in the Bay Area and excelled in his business life.  We had a bet, don't remember what it was for, or who actually lost it, but it seemed that I owed Michael a case of beer (I'm still on record that I think Michael owed ME the beer, but it seemed to change many times over the years!) I was more than willing to make good on the bet, but our timing never seemed to  work out.

I love Michael Kelly.  Always positive, ever present smile, rock solid friendship...you could not find a better wingman in life than Michael!! Yolanda, you and your girls were everything to Michael, and he lived for his family.  We have all been blessed by his presence and will forever cherish his memories!

I coached football at Bellarmine for eight years and a lot of great kids came through our program.  Mike Kelly certainly stands out as one of the best.  He was a hard worker and a quiet leader.  My condolences to his family.

Michael was my first cousin and I had the pleasure of growing up on 15th St with him and Yolanda. Lots of great memories from grammar and high school, family get-togethers and just hanging in the neighborhood. I will definitely miss his humor, kindness and savvy busy sense! He was a devoted family man who always put others before himself. With all of his accomplishments, he was most proud of his daughters and grandchildren. I will miss reminiscing with him about the good ‘ol days! Our hearts are broken but our memories will live on forever! Yolanda, we are thinking and praying for you and all your family.

words can never describe mike kelly. he was simply the greatest.  i had the pleasure of coaching mike at bellarmine.  100 % was the best thing that described mike on the field.   He carried that same quality in the classroom and eventually in his accounting business.

This silly photo reminds me of the essence of Mitch: full of fun, goodwill and family times!  Michael was like another brother to me.  Someone I could laugh myself silly with, and would trust with my life.  I can't believe he is gone so soon.  All my love and condolences to Yo, Lauren, Peggy, Steph, and all the family!

I will miss his consistently positive attitude, fantastic sense of humor, friendship, endless generosity, smile, corny jokes, and amazing singing voice, which I was privileged to hear every time he answered the phone, “Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day.” (We have a mutual love for Hawaii).  There is nothing negative about Michael, I shall strive to be like him always.

The scripture tells us that terrible things happens that defy human understanding. In the words of Job “I looked for light , but then came darkness “

Michael was a beautiful human being . He touched the lives of so many people and had a passion of life and deep love for family and friends .
It is difficult to understand why terrible things happen to good people ,but it’s is crucial to remember their love and kindness will live through the memories they leave behind . 
May his memories be eternally etched in our hearts. 
Rest well . You will be missed. 

Michael was the nicest, friendliest and most generous man, and a great family man, to boot. You will be greatly missed my friend!

Michael was a person that I looked to emulate, his selflessness and kindness were amazing qualities. I remember every Christmas and major holiday he would always make time to come over to the Kelly household to say hi. I always admired that about him. He always had a smile on his face and genuinely cared about you when he saw you. He will be sorely missed.
