Kevin was born in Iowa while his father studied in college and was brought to North Carolina three years later. There he spent his formative years until he was relocated to Northern Virginia during the summer before he started the eighth grader. After four years in Virginia, he was relocated again, this time to California, the summer before his senior year in high school. During this year, Kevin studied aeronautics and earned his private pilot’s license. After graduating Carmel High School, he went to the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. After meeting the love of his life, Eloise, he brought her to California to make their home. Soon thereafter, a close cousin, Dean, introduced him to the sheet metal trade. Kevin progressed through four years of apprenticeship and continued as a Journeyman for the next 29 years.
Kevin and Eloise loved animals, and over the years, they cared for a multitude of cats and dogs. It wasn’t unusual for eight to ten animals to be in their care at one time. Kevin would often say that these animals provide great comfort in his life.
Kevin also loved human interaction (often heated), hiking, golfing, science fiction, military history, space, and gardening.
