Joseph Allen Clark, of San Jose, California, passed away on January 13, 2021. He was an incredibly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and great uncle.
Joe was a proud graduate of Los Gatos High School, class of 1959, and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley. He proudly joined the Air Force and rose to the rank of Captain. He returned to civilian life to earn his Master’s Degree in Political Science from San Jose State College. Subsequently, he earned his MBA from Santa Clara University.
He went on to work for state and local government, and even considered a run for House of Representatives. Ultimately, he was proud to work for the Los Gatos and San Jose School Districts in different capacities over the years, even being a substitute teacher later in life. His true passion was selling real estate, which he continued doing as recently as last year.
Joseph was a dedicated family man. He married Carole Link Clark in 1970 and was lovingly married to her for 50 years. Together they had 2 children, Andrew and Katherine. He was a wonderful father that was actively involved with his children, teaching them to swim, ski, play music, be kind to others and love unconditionally.
He loved to enjoy a glasses of red wine and “sneak” chocolate whenever he could. He was an incredible piano player, writing and performing at home, in restaurants and even as the accompanist for his children’s school plays. He loved socializing, dancing, music, laughter, reading, politics and Sci-Fi movies. He was also known on a first-name basis at Jack Holders and Three Flames!
Joe will be fondly remembered by his friends and family as a loving husband and family member who always wanted to keep you smiling and laughing. He was kind-hearted, courteous, and funny. We were blessed that he loved us all “whole bunches”.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carole Clark, children Andrew Clark and Katherine Reggans, grandchildren Braden, Aubrey, Ryan and Gabrielle, sister JeanAnne Tarleton, and the amazing extended family that he had the pleasure to spend a lot of time with throughout his life.
The family requests those who wish to express their sympathy to consider making a donation in Joseph’s name to any of the following charities: DAV - Disabled American Veterans, St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, or any performing arts programs.
As stated in his farewell letter in 1967 to the wonderful people in the Air Force, “God Bless you all – Drink a Bourbon and 7 and kiss a gal for me – You’re All FANTASTIC!”
