Glenda Marie Gil

Glenda Marie Gil, resident of San Jose, admirer of the beach, and fiercely loving mother passed away unexpectedly in her home on December 8, 2022. Glenda was born in San Jose on December 10, 1962 to her parents William “Bill” (d. 2016) and Lois Gil. A creative and adventurous soul, Glenda graduated from the Academy of Art University in 1993. Inspired by a deep desire for education, Glenda went back to school to obtain her LVN and graduated in 2011. She then set out to obtain her Masters in Psychology with a focus on counseling and graduated in 2016.

Glenda had two daughters, Gianna born in 1995 and, Marlowe born in 2000. Her daughters were the light of her life, she loved them passionately and would often share stories of their accomplishments. Nothing made her more proud than watching her kids graduate college in 2021, and 2022 respectively.

Glenda was known for her kind, accepting, and whimsical nature. She had an innate ability to treat those around her with no judgement, as if she had known a complete stranger her whole life.

Glenda is survived by her mother Lois Gil, three siblings, Matthew, Walter and Jennifer, two daughters, Gianna and Marlowe Hatchett, and her grandson Charles Cacciatore. We will all miss her terribly but find comfort knowing that she is back in the arms of her best friend, her father Bill. A celebration of life will be taking place at 11:00 AM on January 19, 2023 at Lima Family Santa Clara. The family requests that you wear color rather than traditional black attire.
