Eugene Salvatore Sanfilippo passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 18, 2019 at his home. He married the love of his life Joanne (Bigongiari) Sanfilippo August 17, 1958 when he was 21 years old. They were married for 60 years. Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the youngest and last surviving member of his family of four children and was a remarkable example of work ethic, loyalty, and compassion. His greatest love was his wife and their family! He was a proud member of the Sons of Sicily and the Italian American Heritage Foundation he faithfully dubbed "the club."

He is survived by his loving wife Joanne Sanfilippo; children James Sanfilippo (Cheryl) of Nipomo, CA, Jeanine McCloskey (John) of Oakdale, CA, John Sanfilippo (Arja) of Folsom, CA; grandchildren Brian Sanfilippo (Kristina), Ryan Sanfilippo, Michael McCloskey, Mary Coughlan (Thomas), Katelyn Herrin (Dustin), Arjana Sanfilippo, Annalisa Sanfilippo; great-grandchildren Taylor, Braden, Jackson, and Theodore.

A rosary will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Lima Family Santa Clara at 466 N. Winchester Blvd. in Santa Clara at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, 11 a.m. at the Carmelite Monastery, 1000 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.

In lieu of flowers, the Sanfilippo family would be honored if donations were made to the Italian American Heritage Foundation in his name.
