Daniel was born in San Francisco August 17, 1924. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Daniel was married to his loving wife Evelyn for 61 years. He will be missed by Evelyn and their five adult children and their spouses; Maryann (John), Carol (Peter), Patricia (Peter), James (Beth) and Theresa (Phillip). Daniel had 12 grandchildren who adored him; Trevor, Krystal (Casey), Amanda (Doug), Matthew (Candice), Daniel, Jessica, Kevin, Thomas, Michelle, Gabrielle, Forest and Evan and the joy of meeting his infant great granddaughter, Samantha.
Daniel was a devout Catholic who spent many years volunteering for his church. He was a World War II veteran having served under General Patton in the 3rd Army, 11th Division; a graduate of UC Berkeley; a retired civil engineer for the city of San Jose Building Department; and most of all, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had many special memories of dancing with Evelyn and traveling the world with her. His hobbies included years of riding his bicycle to work, hiking, swimming and maintaining and harvesting his many fruit trees. His most cherished moments were spending time with his family.
He faced his final days with bravery and grace.
A special thank you for the care and support provided by Kaiser Hospice and Julie from Homecare Professionals in his final months.
