Barbara was my dearest friend.
She was always there for me. 
After my husband passed away she was always ready to meet me for breakfast and listen to me and comfort me.
Barbara was a wonderful and godly woman.
She loved her Lord Jesus very much and loved to study His Word, the Bible.
Barbara always put others first.
She was a wonderful Bible Study teacher.
She taught me a lot from God's Word.
I love her very much and I will miss her terribly.
I thank my Jesus for giving her to me as my friend.

I have for most of my life possessed enormous respect for Barb. As one of my parents best friends in all the world, she brought such joy into my parents (Bill and Jane Bowles) lives. Personally, I saw how generous she was to sooo many people. When I was just out of high school and going to West Valley, she heard I was looking for a job. She promptly hired me to clean her house AND the houses of TWO of her friends who were going through tough times. She paid me for all three houses.  She had a plaque near her front door that had the Bible scripture, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." As a young committed Christian, I memorized that verse as I dusted and vacuumed her house. I have tried to raise my family with that verse in mind for over 30  years.  Even more than that, I respected Barb for her unfailing devotion to the Lord Jesus and to making HIM known to others. From visiting jails to old folks homes to leading Bible studies wherever there was an opportunity.  She loved Jesus and she loved others, generously and sacrificially.  I know few like her in my 54 years on this earth.  Barb is now free to laugh and dance and gaze upon her reward, eternal communion with Jesus in Heaven. Enjoy, Barb! When it my turn to enter Heaven I hope to see your smile when I arrive! 

My  dearest  friend, so many memories, so much love, so many conversations on scripture, so many demonstrations of Barb's faith and love of our Lord,  so much fun wherever we were, oh the laughter,  sharing until we cried,   my mentor in my Christian walk,  forever in my heart, forever in my memories. Heaven received a wonderful gift when my Aunt Barbara went home. She was truly a remarkable woman and my loving Aunt that I already miss very much. 

Aunt Barbara was always so available whether it be in California or here in Texas. She and my father were as close as any brother and sister ever. And because of that unbreakable bond she welcomed my family into her world unconditionally and I will forever be grateful of that love she so willingly shared. I remember spending holidays together and just sharing time that meant so much to me growing up. I remember one Christmas in particular in California when we got an Evel Knievel motorcycle toy. We spent hours in the cul-de-sac playing. On other trips we would get to go swimming in the neighbors pool, or ride bikes to a nearby park for tennis. Afterward there was always something good to eat and of course plenty of cold Dr. Pepper. 

She and my Uncle Rusty were a big part of so many firsts in my life. First time ice skating, first time snow skiing, first trip to Disney, first trip to San Francisco, first time playing golf at Pebble Beach and on and on.  My Aunt always greeted us with love and humor.

I will forever miss her beautiful blue eyes and that wonderful little chuckle when she found something amusing. I will forever miss my Aunt Barbara. 



Fondest memory is Aunt Barbara always being such a great host when the Hudson’s showed up from Texas by always ensuring we had things to do and plenty to eat.  

I remember playing doubles in tennis with her and her friends one time before heading off to the Air Force and I accidentally hit one of her girlfriends in the back. After a short delay, Aunt B told me she’ll be ok once the swelling goes down. 

The longest memory I have is when she would come to Texas and visit her beloved brother, Rodney. Those two had a bond like no other siblings on the planet. They both would go for walks together, like the same food and of course a cold Dr. Pepper. They enjoyed watching golf, old westerns, and taking naps. They lived together growing up coming from a broken house so all they really had was each other and the bond and love never wavered. 

I know Aunt B went to the front of the line when she got to Heaven because she is just that special. I know she is enjoying seeing Trey and her father now. 

She touched many lives in so many different ways. An incredible person that you feel lucky to have known. 

My best friend and sister in Christ.  So many years of co-hosting home bible studies, reading and discussing scripture, playing tennis, sharing weekend condos, going on vacations… pure joy.
