Bill was born in Corona, CA, the youngest of William A. and Mary Ethel Robertson’s six children. He enjoyed growing up in the small-town atmosphere of Corona where he attended Elementary, Junior High and High School (CHS class of 1950). Bill was very out-going and was active in student government (Student Body President), excelled in sports (Football and Track) and graduated with academic honors. He enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War and served as a Russian Language Specialist in the Security Service, a branch of Air Force Intelligence.
Bill met the love of his life, Connie Greenawalt in November 1951 and they were married in June 1952. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he obtained an accounting degree from Woodbury College in Los Angeles. In 1961, a few years after the birth of their children, the young family made the move to Orange County, purchasing a home in Garden Grove. In 1987, Bill and Connie relocated to their current home in Westminster. Bill’s accounting career spanned 34 years, concluding at Kaynar in Fullerton and Cambro in Huntington Beach.
Bill enjoyed watching football (especially USC) and old movies on TV and gardening. Travel was another passion--- when his children were growing up, he and Connie took them on numerous road trips. Singing was also a major part of his being. He was always singing around the house, be it when he got up in the morning, when he arrived home from work, and any other time. He is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Sharyn (Ken) Bonja and son Scott (Lucy) Robertson, five grandchildren (Laura, Jacqueline, Natalie, Stephanie and Josh) and five great grandchildren. Bill endured a great deal of pain in the last few years of his life due to numerous health issues. And in the last year, he was homebound. What a blessing it is to know that he is now home with the Lord, free of pain, and singing in heaven! A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13th 11:00 am at Christ Pacific Church 20112 Magnolia St Huntington Beach.
