To the Lacher family we give our deepest condolences.  Your mother Rose was a "Trailblazer" in pursuit of a dream: an advocate for the voiceless, with humility and kindness.  She will be greatly missed and remembered forever.  She was like another mother to Linda and me.  She inspired me and others to do "good things. "    When she would arrive at a Jeremiah Society Program I remember her saying "Isn't this great!"  Her love and devotion to her family  is an inspiration for all of us.  Live life with passion and love deeply.

Rose brought so much life to the world and I was blessed to have received part of it. She truly made a difference in the world.

What an extraordinary woman! Rose never let obstacles or difficulties interfere with her plans for the Jeremiah Society and the home for Jewish adults with special needs.
Rose would make people feel respected and important. Being near her, you could almost feel the warmth of her goodness.
She was a genuine and sincere person who loved life and was loved by everyone who knew her.

To the family of Rose Lacher, whose smile and charm will always be remembered. However, it was her perseverance and determination that saw her dreams come true.....the Jeremiah Society, which changed lives forever, and a Jewish home for our special needs adults. Thank you, Rose. We will miss you.

Rose was our first connection to the special needs community when we moved to Orange County over 30 years ago. She was a brave and hopeful leader, as inclusive with all my children, and reached out by phone to remind us of every holiday get together and community project.  I have early movies of her making latkes with Rabbi Engel close by and my kids still under 5 years old..
Her dream of a Jewish home for our special needs grown-up children to live independently shaped her desires for success, for which she strived tirelessly and over decades. I am thankful that she lived to see her dream become a reality.
We sincerely mourn her loss and our hearts go out to Amy, Sheldon and Hillary. May her memory continue to be a blessing for all who know and love her, and so many whose lives she touched..
