Robert was born on April 3, 1940, to J.W. and Lauretta Carroll in Chicago. He was the youngest of their three children. His siblings are Richard Carroll of Palm Desert, CA and Patricia Nahin of Bishop, CA. After graduating from Santa Monica High School in California, he went to work for his father’s plastic manufacturing company, J.W. Carroll & Sons. Robert met Beverly Cook in high school and they married in August 1958. Robert and Beverly had two children, Diana and Patricia.
Robert’s second marriage to Tina Denko of New Jersey, was in November of 1968. Robert and Tina had one son, Robert Matthew. Robert and Tina celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2018 surrounded by family and friends and were married for a total of 54 years.
Robert continued to work for the family firm as part owner until 1977 when he went to work for Mobay Chemical Company where he worked until he retired. The plastics industry and his many colleagues were a big part of his life.
Robert will be remembered as being a hard-working provider for his family who he loved beyond measure. He had a wonderful sense of humor which was enjoyed by family and friends alike. Robert enjoyed golf for many years and was a member of Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa, CA.
Robert is survived by his two siblings, Richard and Patricia, his wife, Tina, his three children, Diana, Patricia, and Robert Matthew, his six grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Mason, Simone, Devin, and Oliver, as well as his one great grandchild, Emilia.
The family requests that donations be made, in memory of Robert, to St. Luke’s Orthodox Church of which he was a long-time member. There will be a funeral service at St. Luke’s on June 3, 2023 at 10:00 am with a graveside service to follow at 12:00 PM at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Costa Mesa, CA.
