Octavia Acosta Kramer, a former resident of Hurley, NM, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4th at her home in Santa Ana, California. She was born on May 29, 1920 to Emilio and Octaviana Porter Acosta in Gila, New Mexico. She spent her early years in Hurley, New Mexico, where the family went to school, and were members of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. She moved to the Los Angeles area and worked for the Air Force Space Command as an administrative assistant. She met her husband Fred Kramer and after a long courtship, they married on Nov. 15, 1982 and moved to their Santa Ana home. Tana and Fred loved to travel, and together they took many trips, and cruises. They visited many places across the country, and enjoyed learning the history and culture of each place they visited. She was a devout Catholic, and was very proud of her brothers and sisters, and all the nephews and nieces in her family. She will be remembered for her bright smile, her quick wit, and her love for her family, and especially her love for her husband Fred.
She is survived by her brother Eddie Acosta, of Hurley, New Mexico, grand-daughter Karin Lambach and great- granddaughter Annika, who have been by her side for many years, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers, Alfonso, Rufus and, Arnold Acosta. 4 sisters, Emilia Avelucia, Clorinda Myers, Gloria Tarazon, and Josephine Dominguez.
Services will take place at Fairhaven Memorial Cemetery, Sunday, Oct. 23rd, at 10:00am in Santa Ana, Calif.
