Maria was the oldest of 10 and shared her life with 5 sisters & 4 brothers.
The Lord blessed Maria with a big family. She had 4 beautiful girls; Silvina, Balbina, Noemí, and Lorena. She also had 7 boys; Mario, Gildardo, Leopoldo, Leonel, Jorge, Luis y Salvador. She was known as Abuelita to 29 grandchildren,38 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren that she loved very much.
She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she shared many fond memories with all of them. Her love language was always homemade meals. She knew everyone's favorite dishes to ease a stressful day or mend a broken heart. She made everything from scratch and was known for her extra spicy salsa made with chilis from her own chili plants. Cooking was one of her favorite hobbies and she also enjoyed gardening for hours. She loved all kinds of flowers but her absolute favorites were pink roses. To pass the time she would make the most beautiful and intricate embroidered napkins that she would sew and knit together while watching her favorite novellas with a glass of warm milk and Maria cookies on the side.
She had a loving and caring tender side to her that went hand in hand with a "put you in your place" type of love but Maria always had a special place for everyone in her heart.
Maria's journey ended in this life on June 16th, 2023. She will be greatly missed but we get to carry the memories she leaves behind by all the hearts she's ever touched. We take solace in knowing that she is now in peace and one day we will see her again in eternal glory. "Those who leave us live on forever in our hearts."
