Margaret Salcedo was born 2-23-1939 in Los Angeles, California to Jose Maria Maldonado and Guadalupe Paula Aguirre Maldonado. She peacefully entered heaven on 11-29-23 in Carlsbad, California surrounded by family.
She is survived by her children Diane, son-in-law Michael Ferrara, Daniel Salcedo, Doreen and son-in-law Tom Olson, grandchildren Matthew and daughter-in-law Patty Smith, Olivia Olson and great grandchildren Keira and Skyler Smith.
Margaret grew up in Los Angeles and attended Divine Savior High School and worked at Pacific Telephone until she married Joe Salcedo.
Margaret married Joseph G. Salcedo on 5/7/1960 in Los Angeles and moved to Santa Ana, California.
In the early 1960’s Joe and Margaret opened La Chiquita Mexican Restaurant in Santa Ana and after over 30 years of personally owning and running this successful restaurant business they sold it in 1994 due to Joe’s health problems.
Margaret was widowed in 2-16-2002 and continued to reside in Santa Ana until moving to Irvine in 2017 then to Carlsbad 8/2023.
Margaret spent time with her family and friends, traveling and enjoyed gardening. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, generosity and always making others feel like they were part of the family.
Margaret’s true loves were her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when surrounded by family.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Cathedral, 566 S Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
