Kathryn "Kathy" Elise Reyes

Kathryn Elise Nelson Reyes, 59, of Orange, passed on December 15th, 2022 at home. Kathy was born on 01/01/1963 in Blytheville Arkansas and was the first child born that day on the Air Force Base to Lorin and Carlene Nelson. She grew up in Santa Ana where she attended Hoover Elementary K-5, Willard Junior High 5-7, and Santa Ana High class of 1981.

A graduate from Biola University where she earned BSN, Kathy worked as a RN-BSN beginning her career with UCI from 1986-1988, but spent the majority of her time with Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

Known by many and loved by all who knew her, Kathy worked as a Case Coordinator for Dr. Violet Shen and Dr. Ivan Kirov on the Oncology PSF as well as the other Physicians Case Management for CHOC Oncology from 1988-2008. In her 20 years of care and love provided to her "little baldies", Kathy cherished every moment with the CHOC community.

Kathy is survived by her husband Raymond A. Reyes and son Christopher J. Romero, both from Orange. Brother and Sister-In-Law Tim & Susan Nelson, Niece Taylor Nelson, Nephew Tate Nelson from Elk River Minnesota. Aunt Lillian Van Epps from Fountain Valley.
