Julie was and always be in our hearts. Julie was an extraordinary person who made every life she touch better.  Rest in peace, Julie.


She was the one of the  only teachers in the school that ever made me feel seen and important. My graduation day she stopped me mid walk down the isle and took so many pictures in the middle of the ceremony. I gave her one of my favorite ceramic pieces I've ever made my senior year. I was one of her TAs. I just found out today and I'm devastated. I'll forever miss you and hold you close to my heart. ♡ 

I remember Julie as one of the sweetest colleagues I've had in a long career.  I am heartbroken to know her life was cut short.  I have a beautiful rose vase from her that I have always treasured, and it's out on my dining table now to help me hold her in my memories and in my heart.

From Julies cousin on the other side of the world, feelings of deep sadness for her way too early passing.  As I scroll through the family pictures, sadness of not sharing more time with the much loved, happy, caring, beautiful woman who was and still is our 'angel' Julie Drake. Love and condolences to you Rick, Ken and Julies other family and friends.

Thanks for sharing your power and passion with us all. I'll cherish the memories of enduring endless meetings together and your knowing wink that said, "Everything will be all right--eventually." Cheers to you! Thanks.

I am saddened by the news of your passing.  Your support meant so much and your dedication to the vision of Paw Pride and to your students was unmatched.  You became a friend that I miss dearly.  Our annual dinner meeting was coming up and I regret not planning it sooner.  As I told you last year, JVHS will not ever be the same without you.

My heart is very broken hearing this news u where my senior year teacher u really teach me how life was going to be after high school I’m really going to miss u Mrs.Rosa also u where my favorite teacher love u and may God have u in peace 

I first met Mrs. Rosa during my freshman year at Jurupa Valley. Mrs. Rosa you were my favorite teacher and now You are gone. You will always be in my heart and I'm thankful for having you as my teacher all the way through high school. I miss you and we will meet again.

The first time I met Julie, I immediately knew she had the energy of a teacher; especially one that I often would come to love and admire as a young girl. In the few instances that we interacted, I discovered how compassionate, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very sweet Julie was. Although I only knew her for a short amount of time, I will come to miss her as a student would to any of her teachers that she had come to adore growing up.

Julie Rosa had such an impact on Builders and I in the little time we got to know her. She always was in great spirits and had an abundance of smiles. She had a gIow about her.  I have been with Builders Surplus for 5 years and I worked right outside her office. She was our HR manager. If we had an issue we could go to her. She was welcoming and compassionate. I came to her once for some recommendations on how to  go about helping with my son with his obstacles at school. She was a great about it .  She had a bottomless candy bar that we got to visit when she was here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sugar Free, regular candies, and she took requests. She added a touch to Builders in a mostly male environment that benefited us greatly. It was nice change.  She got programs started, new office supplies , and brought a bright light into our office that we hadn't had. She will be greatly  missed. I only wish I had got to know her awhile longer.  My condolences to her family and friends. 

Mrs. Rosa was one of my favorite teachers during my four years at JVHS. It is because of her I knew how to write a business plan and check before I ever graduated.  Her classes were always filled with laughter and compassion because she made it an environment that we all wanted to be in.  She was the first to offer support and guidance whenever one of her students asked for it. Thank you Mrs. Rosa for impacting my life when I was 17 and for showing me what kind of teacher I inspire to be with my own students. You will be greatly missed. 



Business Management Class of 2006 

I remember Julie for her team spirit with us on the JVHS staff.  She was always  a person one could count on to deliver and give 110% on any project.  Her students were very lucky to have such a dedicated teacher who gave them her best.  I am extremely sorry Julie did not have much time to savor a well-earned retirement, but we were all blessed to be able to know her for as long as we did.  

Julie.....our hearts are sad and heavy with the loss of our dear friend.  Your smile and kindness permeated all that you did. JVHS students who were privileged to be in your classroom loved your thoroughness, patience, organization, and fairness.  Our lives have been impacted by you and there is a missing part of our hearts.  Praying that the Lord will comfort those of us left behind.

Oh, Julie!  You have left so many sad and broken hearts behind!  My memory of you is so much like that of so many of our colleagues.  We loved and will miss your smile, your knowledge, your kind heart and your exceptional generosity!   Your life was too short, Julie, but let one and all know you lived a life that was dedicated to others, that was productive and worthwhile and meaningful!  You were a teacher!!

Julie was truly an ANGEL, just like Mom (Mama Drake), over 40 years I/ we have known the Drake's and they have become a very important part of our FAMILY and she was so much like a little sister to us ... Her heart was as BIG as her Smile,  to see her grow from a little girl, to the woman she became,  I always told her Mom & Dad are so PROUD of her, from her marriage to a great guy Rick, to being TEACHER of the Year a few time, to all the kids she helped, she will truly be missed by so many .... RIP my little sister, love always, Roman

 Am so sorry to hear about Julie. My deepest condolence to you Ken. I will always remember her smile as you first enter Builders Surplus on Main Street. She was always so nice and kind to me. I wish I had words of comfort for you.
