Joseph was born on September 26, 1924, in Manhattan, New York, and grew up in Brooklyn. He attended Stuyvesant High School and graduated from Lafayette College in 1949 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps to serve in World War II. As a radio technician in the 9th Night Fighters 533 unit, he fought in the Pacific theater—a service he was proud of throughout his life. He was called back to duty for the Korean War.
Joseph worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where he built a distinguished career until his retirement at age 62. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling the world with his first wife, Betty, who sadly passed away in 1986 after 35 years of marriage.
In 1987, Joseph found love again and married Laura Karam on May 15, 1988. Together, they shared a loving and fulfilling life for 36 years.
Joseph will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his contributions to the field of aerospace engineering, and his unwavering patriotism. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He had a saying he repeated throughout his life: “F squared.” The F’s stood for Family and Friends—the most important people in his life.
