James Dwight Dickerson, born January 25, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024 at Los Alamitos Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James (JD) and Virginia Dickerson.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Dottie; his daughters, Janice (Mike) Lee and Joanna (Bob) Nelson, both of Michigan; his cherished grandchildren Mathew, Jonathan, Bradley, Taylor, Joseph, Sierra, and Kayla; and his great-grandchildren Bennett and Madison. Lisa his daughter, grandchildren Alicia (Amanda) Barrett, Korbyn, Richie (Naomi), Logan (Emylia).
A proud graduate of Santa Ana Valley High School in 1965, James went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked alongside his father at the family television shop before embarking on a successful career as a realtor with Tarbell Realty. Later in life, he transitioned to a role at GTE/Verizon.
James was an avid golfer throughout his life and found joy in scuba diving during his younger years. He also shared a passion for classic rock, good food and traveling with his daughters from an early age - memories that became lasting gifts to his family.
James will be remembered for the love he brought to those around him and the legacy he leaves behind. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
