Gwynne Kathryn Snell

Gwynne (Halldorson) Snell was born on December 10, 1932 in San Francisco, California and she was raised in Glendale, California with her sister Dorothea (Dottie Longo). Gwynne passed on September 21, 2023 at the age of 90.

A faithful Catholic and graduate of Holy Family High School and Immaculate Heart College, Gwynne earned her teaching degree and taught elementary school for 40 years in the Orange County area. Over her career she encouraged and inspired generations of children.

On a summer trip to Catalina, Gwynne met Wayne Snell and they married in 1955. They were married for 68 years.

Gwynne was known for her creativity and her love of hosting amazing parties for every birthday and holiday. She was an excellent cook and had a classy decorating style. Her family loved receiving lovely handwritten notes, poems and invitations for every holiday or party. Gwynne enjoyed video poker and fun outings to Laughlin, NV.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Snell and children Steven Snell, Kristin Tallman and Kathy Warner; and son-in-law Bill Tallman and daughter-in-law Carol Snell and sister Dottie Longo. She was adored by her kids and their spouses, her 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange on November 3, 2023 at 10:00am. A private reception will be held immediately following.
