On April 16, 2017 Frances Marcyne Shaw died at the age of 87. Born in 1930 in Garden Grove, she was third generation Californian.
Her family always came first. While raising her own family in Anaheim she became a foster parent for 12 years. She raised over a dozen children during that time.
She also, in her later years raised her two grandchildren.
Her love of the outdoors led to many outdoor family adventures including backpacking, camping and canoeing. She always took the time to learn about the area being explored and educate the family about the history of the land.
She was a Visual Perception Lab educator for many years with the Anaheim City School District.
She loved to dance, performing in Anaheim Park and later at Mayfest Celebrations in White Salmon, Washington. As a social dancer she belonged to many different dance clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband William A Shaw Sr. and her son Peter S Shaw.
She is survived by son William A Shaw Jr, daughter Frances J Shaw and grandchildren Jeff Shaw and Deborah Putnam.
She will be remembered for her boundless love and devotion to her family.
