Dorothy Hazel Stroud, age 98, of Anaheim, California passed away at sunrise on Monday September 16, 2019. Dorothy was born July 11, 1921 in Oklahoma to Henry and Hazel Bergman.
Dorothy grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She graduated from Weatherford High School in 1938 and then pursued her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State, Southwestern Institute of Technology in May of 1942.
On July 24, 1942, Dorothy married the love of her life, Glenn A. Stroud of Oklahoma. They had one beautiful daughter, Patricia, and moved to Anaheim, California in 1949. Glenn was a manager of Harmony Park Dance Hall and worked for the Anaheim Police Reserves. Dorothy was a doting wife and mother. She also worked part-time for AAA and then worked part-time at Harmony Park with her husband. In 1968, Dorothy became a widower. She gained employment with the Orange County Sheriffs Department where she served as a data entry clerk for 20 years. In her spare time, Dorothy loved to spending time with her family and traveling.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Morris (Walter); grandchildren W. Glenn Morris (Holly); Linda S. Morris; Wendi Morris-Tapia (Steven); great-grandchildren Sabrina Tapia and Jaedyn Tapia; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brother Robert H. Bergman (Jennie) and sister Leona Pearl Brannan (Edgar).
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
A funeral and committal service will occur Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, California 92705.
A Celebration of Life reception will start immediately after the services on September 29, 2019 from 12 PM to 2PM.
