Dalila was born to Ursulo and Carmen Sanchez on November 22, 1942 in Mexicali, Baja California. Her siblings were Susana Avelino Sanchez and brother Daniel Sanchez. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Carmen Mendivil, Dalila Mendivil Hernandez, Ernesto Mendivil, Jr., nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She grew up in Colonia Morelos, Tijuana, Baja California. At the young age of eight, Dalila met the love of her life, Ernesto B. Mendivil, while riding bikes. She graduated in 1958 from Escuela de Belleza Alamo in Tijuana and opened her beauty salon in the same year.
Dalila and Ernesto married in 1961. Soon after their marriage, she sold the beauty salon to start a family. By the age of 26, she had her three children and divorced. Despite the divorce, Dalila and Ernesto remained in love throughout the years and they are finally reunited in Heaven.
Dalila was devoted to her children, grandchildren and elderly mother. She taught her children to recognize their self worth and live by strong moral values.
Her favorite and life-long hobbies were dancing, listening to music and shopping. She was considered by many to be a great dancer.
Despite the health challenges she faced, Dalila remained strong in faith to the end.
We have been blessed with a wonderful mother and friend. Our mom leaves us with many beautiful memories. Her presence will be missed but she remains alive in our hearts.
