March 3, 1963- November 1, 2022
Cristy passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on Tuesday November 1st with her husband and family members at her side.
Cristy was born in Lynwood, California on March 3, 1963 to Chris and Mary Lou Hoover. She soon moved to Norwalk, California before moving to Fullerton, California where she spent her growing years. She was raised with her older siblings Mary Gafner and Dave Hoover. Cristy went to school in Fullerton, she graduated from Troy High School in 1981. School came easy to Cristy and she did well academically but excelled in her social life. Cristy by her own admission was a bit of a “trouble maker” but survived her prep years. She went on to Fullerton College and continued on to Calif. State University Fullerton where she graduated in 1987 with her degree in Exercise Physiology.
Cristy began working in the fitness field where she started teaching aerobics and doing exercise prescription at the “infamous” Racquetball World in Santa Ana and Fullerton. This is where she met her future husband of nearly 35 years Brett Eirich. Cristy and Brett were married on November 28th 1987 at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa. Cristy had rededicated her life to Christ a year before there and proceeded to carry on a strong faith for the remainder of her years. Cristy and Brett have 10 beautiful children which they raised together in North Tustin, California. Raising her kids and being a “Mom” was Cristy’s true passion in life. She loved being a mother and dedicated her life to children. Her children are twins Shelby and Haley 32, Travis 29, Grace 27, Emma 25, Noah 24, Elijah 21, Selah 17, Eliana 12, and Sparrow 12. She is blessed as well with a beautiful grandchild, Stanley 2, the child of Haley and her husband, Andrew Mack Vanderham. Cristy was a stay at home mother where she homeschooled her children and was very involved with their early lives.
Cristy loved watching her children grow and become successful adults. She often stated how bittersweet it was to watch them develop through their different stages of life. She enjoyed gardening, walking, reading, and Yoga. She also raised multiple dogs through the years, most recently Gunner and Sonny who both were glued to her side daily and miss her daily. Cristy will be missed by us all and will be remembered forever as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Her favorite verse:
“Be still and know that I am GOD.”
Psalm 46:10
“Call to Me and I will answer and show you great and mighty things which you do not understand.”
Jeremiah 33:3
