Dearest Grandma,

Thinking about you today brought me tears and laughter. My favorite memory of you is when I was very young. You were babysitting my brother and I.  You had to drive to pick up Laura from school that day and I remember you so nervous driving. I remember your funny screams and your laughter. I have always cherished that memory.  

I know you are enjoying the heavens!! Please visit us in our dreams!! Looking forward  to the day we meet again. 

Dear Mom,
 I love you so much.  Thank you for always loving me and taking good care of me and Jessica and Joseph. I was very blessed to have a wonderful mother like you.  You gave me so much love. I always loved going out to eat with you and dining at Coco's. I know you really liked that restaurant.  I enjoyed talking to you every day on the phone. You always asked how I was, and that you loved me and Jessica and Joseph.  Our last phone call you sounded very good. You said you loved me and asked about Joseph and Jessica's family, your grandchildren Ivy and Henry and grandson (in law) Chaz,  " Tell Yessica, thela Hi to los Ninos and her esposa ".  I am very grateful for our last phone call and glad I got to say I love you. I will miss you mom and treasure all that you gave me through my hard times, and through good times. You were a great mother to me.  God Bless You Always. 

Dearest Beautiful Grandmother in Heaven, 
Words can not express the loss I feel with you gone from this earth. You are such an inspirational woman. You showed love to all your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and opened your home to my brother and me when my parents divorced. I thank you so much for taking care of me growing up. Thank you for teaching me about Jesus and bringing me up well in Godly faith. I look up to you in so many ways and thank you for all the love you gave me. As my family faces this New Year without you, I will uphold what was important to you, God, love, family, friends, and homemade cooking, in your memory. You were more than a grandma to me, you were also a mother to me. Losing you is hard, because you were always there for me, near or far.  I send all my condolences to my Tios and Tias, cousins, and friends that knew you well. I will miss our talks. May you continue to be that angel watching over me. I miss you and love you so very much.

Dear Great Grandma, 
I love you. I will miss talking to you on the phone and singing Happy Birthday to you.  I will always make homemade pumpkin pies for you and EAT them for you too because I know you like pumpkin pie.  I liked drawing pictures for you and writing you letters, and making cards for you.  I do the same for Tia Carmen.  I like the same colors as you do, pink and purple and all the colors of the rainbow.  Here is a picture of the birthday card I made you this past year April 14, 2018, and the first pumpkin pie I made and told you about.  You will always be in my heart.  God  Bless  You Forever. Hi, gramma.  I'm  7 years old. I'm  Henry Fraklin your great-grandson. I miss you :'(  I loved drawing pictures, making cards and sending care packages to you in California. I liked calling  you and talking to you in Spanish too.  I will miss hearing your voice.   You always told me to listen to my mama, and God Bless you.   Here is a picture of you opening the 89th birthday box that we sent you on April 14th, 2018.    Here is me and my first pie that I made and told you about. I like to bake just like you did and make yummy pies too.  

I wish to extend my condolences to this precious family.  Our Faith comforts us and strengthens us in all situations...especially when a loved one goes home to be with the Lord. As I look back to the times I saw Sister Carmen I’m reminded of the genuine love and peace that surrounded her. She had a very quiet strength. And that was evident by the great affection and admiration her daughter, Carmen, had for her. This precious saint of the God has left a great example to all of us who have had the privilege to be called “mother.”

Dearest Beautiful Grandmother, 
I had to write some more.  You made the best potato salad, and this photo says it all.  I asked my mom to take a photo of you and your turkey and salad.  I remember looking forward to church pot-lucks and Easter Sunday and other holidays because you would make this.  You were the best cook! I will forever miss your cooking because it was with love and blessings.
Thank you for teaching me how to cook and gifting me this recipe. 
I love you so so much.  Here is the prayer you taught me to say each night before bed.

Dearest Wonderful Grandmother in Heaven,  
The time really went by too quickly.  One moment you were there hugging me, and telling me I will be okay, and the next moment, you are gone. You were more than a grandma to me, you were also a mother to me. During my childhood, your loving arms surrounded me, and my brother. You brought us into your home and helped my mother take care of us while my parents divorced. I didn't understand why my world and family was breaking up.  “Don’t worry Yessica, God is there with you, and I love you", you said to me. There were times, I cried on your shoulder because I missed my father, and my mother and you just held me tight.  All the memories just come back. They are all here. It is nothing different now that you are in heaven though. I think about you daily. I just can't call you and hear you say, “I love you Yessica, God Bless you.” Because of you, Grandmother, I am who I am today. You helped raise me and my brother.  You cooked homemade meals, taught me how to love God, cook, and do chores and play outside and have fun. I can't begin to express how much of a role model you were and continue to be for me.  You guided me on the right path, and I always went to you for advice.  I would give anything to have one last phone call with you, and one last hug.  I know you are up in heaven, pain-free, but please continue to guide me. I need that.  I miss you so much. In everything I do, I give love,( just like you did) to my children, family, and friends. You are my inspiration and my role model of a woman.  Your memory, by your traditions, and teachings will stay alive with me. I promise. I will make your famous potato salad every Easter too.  I can’t express, the loss I feel knowing I will not see you on this earth anymore. I will write that book as I promised you. “Why are you asking so many questions Yessica? Are you going to write a book about  me?” Yes, grandma. I am. I love you. God Bless you. 


My precious Mom I will always love you and miss you tremendously Mamita. I thank God for the greatest blessing a daughter could have in her life. My dear Mommy never failed to pray for all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives & friends. I was very blessed to hear you praying every night for us all, such a great awesome Prayer warrior I Loved your exampleship a righteous Woman of God. My wonderful Mom beautiful from within & out so very loyal, loving, giving, kind & helpful to all your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and to all who knew you. Mom you always brought, Love Joy and Peace an encourager of the Bible strong in your Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
I will deeply cherish & treasure all our time together all the laughs we shared, tears when we would have talks of Dad, Jesse, cousin Peter & other dear relatives who now you are reunited with them celebrating in Jesus Heavenly presence where I await that Glorious day I will be reunited with all of you too. I treasure my precious mother-in-law of over 22 years!  We enjoyed so many good times together as a family with son Refugio, with grandson Gregory, my mom Jane, daughter Carmen, of course my father-in-law (her husband) before he passed, and me--Ruth!  We formed a very tight knit family unit sharing the love of Jesus Christ enjoying life's happiness and praying together through life's challenges.  We had so much enjoyment spending holidays, special occasions, and many other visits together at our home in Orange, CA eating good food, laughing, and talking.  I also appreciate all she did to help my hubby Refugio recover after cancer surgery.  My sweet mother-in-law was able to witness the marriage of my son Gregory and daughter-in-law Marsha, enjoyed the boys Jeremiah and Malachi praying for her, the birth of Emma one year ago, and the gift of being able to hold Emma in her arms.   This very special woman of God will be missed but not forgotten and l look forward to the day we reunite in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mom Carmen is a very special daughter of God.  She loved and supported her family all her life and brought Jesus Christ to those around her with her Godly character. I loved spending time with her when Carmen would go on errands and helping care for her. She loves God and she is dancing with Jesus in heaven .

My mama gave me Jesus when I was in her womb and born with many afflictions that my mother prayed me through every crisis and fevers.  Her Faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ gave me courage and the will to live when I was dying of cancer.  She never gave up praying and asking Our Heavenly Father for more Grace and Strength.  She was the most powerful prayer warrior for Jesus of Nazareth and the Pillar of Faith for the entire Quintana family. She was the hardest working mother and wife providing three daily meals for a family of nine until we left and married.  She made lunch for all seven children for elementary, intermediate and high school.  The best food everybody wanted to taste at school.  Our eighteen years as farm workers in the fields of Kerman and Madera and Fresno my mama cooked and worked with her family in the hot sun with a beautiful smile.  She was the hardest working providing for a family of Nine!  Her faith was the strongest of the family and ministered to everyone from her personal bible she carried with her everywhere.  My mama always reminded me that Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life.  Her prayers always comforted me and brought a healing miracle to my body.  The pain of missing her is intense but Jesus, Holy Spirit is My Comforter and I weep with Peace knowing she is with Jesus Her Lord and Savior and Redeemer.  The Blood Of Jesus Has Redeemed Her Soul for Eternity.  I am thankful to Jesus for giving me the sweetest and most beautiful mom a son could have.  Thank you Jesus for the many memories and beautiful times of laughter, joyful and precious moments with my mom at the parks, restaurants, vacations and many meals at the Kensington home. You will always breathe into my soul the Love and Compassion of Our Heavenly Father as you now sing Praises unto our King Of Glory with all of His Angels and Saints.   your loving son, Refugio (cuquito), te quero muncho......

Carmen was a very sweet woman. She always has an encouraging word to share. Very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved my enchiladas. The last time her and her daughter Carmen came to our home. They ate the enchiladas. She had a really big smile on her face. 

Carmen was someone I looked up to. Her faith was unbreakable. She will be dearly missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. She is now reunited with her loving husband. Rest In Peace sweet Carmen.



Regarding the life span of imperfect humans, the psalmist in part says: “In themselves the days of our years are 70 years; and if because of special mightiness they are 80 years...” (Psalm 90:10) 

A life span of 70 years is typical of people in general but my Grandma lived 89 years because she was “strong and had special mightiness.” 

My Grandma Carmen knew in her heart she was truly loved by my family. In return she showed true unconditional love to us all. She had deep feelings  towards all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her feelings of compassion, mercy, forgiveness, kindness, empathy, charity were all rooted from her deep love. She reflected the qualities and the fruits of Gods Spirit noted in Galatians 5: 22, 23 - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness and self-control. 

Paul wrote at Romans 6:23: “The wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” Imagine —endless life without pain, suffering, or sorrow! (Revelation 21:3, 4) What a happy prospect! One scholar put the matter this way: “While graveyards may remind one of the brevity of life, the resurrection ensures the brevity of death.” Yes, the resurrection of Jesus means life!

This hope is what allows my family and I to cope with this tremendous loss. 

I would not have my loving family today without her help and love! Until I see you again Grandma, I love you with all my heart and look forward to the time when you and Grandpa are reunited! 



Grandma Carmen was one of the best humans I have had the privilege to know. She has been a part of my life since I was 14 years old. Her and grandpa were the only 2 people who gave us love, encouragement and shelter when Steve and I needed it the most. She played the role of my mother, my grandmother and dear friend from the day that I got pregnant with my son Caleb at the young age of 15. Her love and devotion to us and all her family was awe inspiring. My favorite memory of her is when she came to pick me up at my first job when I was 16 years old. I was working at Planet Kids in Orange and my primary job was to watch children play, but when she pulled up and saw me mopping floors she went inside, super upset, and demanded that I quit because Steve would not like the fact that I was “working too hard mopping the floors.” She told me that the only thing I needed to work hard at was being a good mother to Caleb. Needless to say that was my last day there.  She always had our best interest at heart. She loved my kids unconditionally and as long as her health allowed she  never missed a weekly visit to be with us and the kids. No matter what she was undergoing, she put the needs of every member of her family ahead of her own needs. Her primary concern was that her loved ones were happy and healthy. Her death is a tremendous loss to all who had the privilege of knowing her.  But I have comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now resting in Jehovah God’s memory. I look forward to a time where we will be able to embrace her and welcome her back into God’s promised new world where suffering, illnesses and death will be a thing of the past. “Te quiero mucho” Grandma! See you soon! John 5:28,29.

Grandma Carmen gave all of us beautiful memories we will never forget. I remember when grandma and grandpa would come over and visit us every Thursday to eat chili beans and potato salad. Every week she would go with us to eat breakfast at Cocos. She would always tell Caleb, Brandon, and I to go “mimis” when we got home from school. She came to see us get babtized. She came to my high school graduation. It really meant so much to me that she came. She was in a wheelchair and must have been in a lot of pain, but she came to see her great granddaughter graduate. Family was most important to her and it’s so evident in everything she would do for us. She helped my parents when they were younger and my family wouldn’t be where we are if it wasnt for her. She made all of us feel so loved and important. Grandma is just resting right now, and I can’t wait to see her again in a beautiful paradise. Jehovah is going to resurrect her in the near future and we will all be able to hug her again. I’ll always remember the good times we had and the love that she showed all of us. I love you grandma Carmen and I will see you soon. Revelation 21:4❤️
