Born on May 5th, 1932, in Whittier, CA, Betty lived a full and vibrant life. She was the loving wife of 44 years to her husband, Gordon. Together, they raised a family of two children who will forever cherish her memory.
Betty was a bookkeeper for a CPA for 23 years and worked at Ghost Town and picked boysenberries for 50 cents per tray at Knott’s Berry Farm. Betty was a devoted homemaker, who took great pride in caring for her family. She was an exceptional cook and seamstress, known for her delicious meals and her beautiful needlework. She enjoyed gardening and could often be found tending to her flower beds. Many knew her for her love of hedgehogs, and Christmas Santas and Angels.
In her free time, Betty enjoyed traveling, knitting, and watching TV. She proudly served as Secretary for her High School Class of 1950 to plan every reunion up until 2018. She was an avid fan of the news and Football thanks to her grandson, Miles. She was also an avid traveler, travelling all around the world with her family, friends and Model T Club friends.
Betty was a woman of great faith, who attended First Baptist Church of Anaheim for many years where she was bookkeeper for 22 years. She was a kind and generous soul who always put others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, her gentle nature, and her unwavering love.
She is survived by her daughter Vicki (Larry) Grafton, and Son Mark (Debbie) Mahoney, Grandchildren, Derek, Miles (Brittany), Chris (Karen), and Crystal, and Great Grandchildren Hunter and Carson. She is also survived by her brother Rodger (Pat) Siems, Nieces Susan (Homer) Holmes and Sondra (Brian) Callahan, Great nieces and nephews Haley (Matt), Audrey (Jeremy), and Brandon, and Great Great Nephew Noah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Mahoney and her parents, Theodore and Lucie Siems.
A graveside service for Betty will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
