Barbara Ann Wiley

Barbara Wiley, 89, passed away peacefully at home on September 19,2017. She was born in Jackson, Tennessee to Claude and Ira Mae (Hilliard) Brown on September 10, 1928. After her father died in 1940, her family moved out to Orange County, where she graduated from Tustin High School in l946. Ln 1949, Barbara married the love of her life, Chuck Wiley. Mom and Dad met when they were 11 years old through mutual family members. They were married for 51 happy years when Dad passed away from cancer in 2000. She is survived by sons Michael, Gregory, and Kevin, grandsons Andrew (Emily) and Ryan, great-granddaughters Elyssa and Allison, as well as many nieces and nephews. Family was everything to Mom. She and Dad helped to raise their grandsons when their father became a single parent. They also welcomed Chuck's nephew Matt into their home after the death of his parents. For many years, Mom hosted large family get togethers several times a year, and cooked Sunday dinner for her sons and grandsons, a tradition we still carry on. Mom always had a great sense of fun and humor, some of which was still evident during her last years after suffering a heart attack and stroke in August, 2013. Though she will be greatly missed, it is a great comfort to know that she is in the arms of her Savior and free from earthly cares.
