Aurora, “Penny” Lucio, 90, passed into eternity February 10th, 2024. Penny was born in Anaheim California on June 27th, 1933. She was the wife of over 60 years to Adolph Lucio, and mother to sons Warren Lucio and Rodney Lucio. She was the 3rd of 4 children born to Macario and Tabita Pena. She is predeceased by her husband Adolph, mother, father and brothers David Garcia, Ralph Garcia and Rudy Pena. Penny leaves behind sons Warren, wife Lisa, Rodney, wife Valerie, and eight grandchildren, Greg, Jameson, Steven, Erica, fiancé Joseph Cerda, Jacqueline, Danielle, husband Collin, Nicolete, husband Travis, David, wife Chelsea, and three great grandchildren, Ella, RJ, and Lily.
Penny had a 30-year career at the Orange County District Attorney's office, starting in a clerical role and working her way up to a position as a DA Investigative Assistant in the Child Support Division. Upon retiring from the Orange County DA’s office, she embarked upon a second career at Santa Ana College where she worked for 12 years before a 2nd retirement.
She will be remembered for the joyful, bright and positive energy she brought to the people in her life and her work. She was always lively, laughed easily, full of fun and easy to be around. Her family was her life’s center and she never ceased from being a loving positive influence in their lives. She was actively involved in many of her sons activities and those of all her grandchildren. Her home was the center of all planned and spontaneous family gatherings.
She loved to travel and was able to do so extensively, taking multiple trips to Europe, and Caribbean cruises.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a joyful presence who loved her family and was happiest when she was spending time with them. Her family is grateful for her lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed.
