Arturo had a big smile each time I saw him, he was so friendly and warming, always calm , smiling and praising God for his goodness! 

I’m happy that we will get to see him again in heaven, next time we see each other he will again have a big smile and wide open arms. See you again Arturo.

It was truly an honor to have worked alongside such a remarkable and extraordinary individual. His dedication, passion, and uplifting spirit left a lasting impact on all of us here in the Modern Languages Department and his students. I have very fond memories of Arturo as a colleague, friend, and mentor which I will always cherish. My condolences and heartfelt sympathies to all his loved ones. Rest in peace my dear Arturo.


We have lost a truly beautiful man, but heaven is even more amazing now that Arturo is among its ranks.    Such a warm, engaging personality.  Our family always enjoyed having  Arturo and Marleny over to our house for kids' graduation parties, etc.

Marley and Evyn, may the peace of our Lord be upon you as you mourn Arturo's loss and celebrate his life and all he was to you and so  many others.

Rejoice in the Lord.  Arturo is being celebrated in heaven for all the love and joy and experiences he shared with the world.  I love that I could speak French with Arturo and be a part of his most loving family with Marleny and Evyn.  What a journey we have all been on together.  The love and support from and for you has been a beautiful witness to the loving light within us all.  Let's spread love everywhere we go in each moment of every day. I am so sorry to hear of Arturo's  passing. He was always happy and pleasant when we spoke.  Artoro joked about how we cornered the market on "romance" languages.   He spoke Italian and Spanish and I speak  French.  Arturo was a kind and supportive colleague He will be missed and my blessings  and thoughts at this difficult time go to his family!

My condolences to you and your family of this great loss. I met Barb-Mingo many years ago in the hallways of SCC. My husband had taken his Intro Spanish class years earlier and had always expressed what an inspirational instructor he was! My husband was aware of the passion in every class and when assisting him during office times. When I introduced myself to him, as a classified employee he was equally dignified as he was friendly. I felt as though I had met a celebrity and became star-struck by his professional and confident demeanor! He was always kind and provided a welcomed greeting each time we passed in the hallways and offered positive wisdoms depending on the topic shared. 
My husband and I will both remember him with great respect and appreciation. 

Arturo Barb-Mingo was such a kind and professional professor.  I had the pleasure of working with him at Santiago Canyon College before he retired.  He always greeted me with a warm smile and seemed to be in such good spirits and was friendly and a pleasure to work with.  I loved saying hello to him as we passed each other in the hallway on our way to a meeting or to the mail room.  He seemed to have time to be so courteous and friendly to colleagues and was such a people person.  Please accept my deepest condolences for his loss and my best wishes for his family and friends.  

It was such a privilege and honor to work with Arturo. He was an incredibly smart and thoughtful colleague. May his memory live on forever.

It is with a heavy heart and condolences to Arturo's family and loved ones. 
 Arturo and I met 57 years ago as college freshmen at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana.  I was lucky to have him as a roommate for our freshman and sophomore years at Dillard. We were both serious students, he in Spanish and other foreign languages and I in Chemistry and Mathematics. German was a requirement for me as a Chemisty major. I often teased him by suggesting that he need take some German for more of a challenge.
 After graduation, we kept in touch by telephone and saw each other on occasions when I traveled to California for work and when he came to New York for Foreign Language Conferences.
We started as roommates but became friends. May my brillant  and kind friend rest in peace.

To the family of Professore,

To try and put into words how much Professore inspired me to learn new languages is near impossible. Having known French before coming into his classroom to learn Italian, it was hard learning a new accent. He was so patient and passionate about teaching language that it made class so enjoyable. Both semesters that I was in his classroom I remember as if it was yesterday and it's been close to 15 years. He was such a special person and an inspiration. He will be dearly missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to learn from him at Santiago Canyon College. My condolences to his family.
