Alicia Katherine Rice

Alicia Katherine Martin-Rice, age 50, passed away in the early morning of January 20, 2023. Alicia was born in Hollywood CA and was raised in Orange County, CA by parents Stan and Mona Martin. She attended Foothill High School in Tustin, CA and while there she participated on the Swim Team. She moved with her family to Raleigh, NC when she was 16 years old. She continued swimming on her new high school team and graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh NC in 1990. Alicia then attended Pfieffer University in Misenheimer, NC, on a swimming scholarship and graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Alicia was very charming. She loved adventure and traveling, and reinvented herself many times, working for several companies. Employment varied from working in a Charlotte NC pit crew to property management in Orange County, CA. She loved meeting new people. In her later years she suffered a car accident, becoming a paraplegic. Years later she regained some ability to walk. After many years of struggling with several health issues, she is now at peace and no longer enduring any pain.

She is survived by her two children, daughter Jacqueline Grime and son Donovan Keating; her father and mother, Stan and Mona Martin, her sister Laura Volpe (Patrick); her sister Amanda Metcalf (Travis); her brother Neil Martin (Jessica); and many dear friends who were like family to her.

A memorial service will be held on February 18, 2023 at 1:00pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. It will be officiated by family friend Reverend Jarrett Johnson An on-site reception will immediately follow the service.
