Mar 2,1927, Agnes Inez was born. Adopted into a loving home in New Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand by Percival Thompson and Jessie Winchester Thompson. Little did anyone know the adventurous future ahead of her.
Inez met and married. George Smith who was temporarily stationed in New Zealand during the war. At age 17, and pregnant, Inez bordered a US Navy ship, with other war brides and military personal, crossing the Pacific Ocean destine for Los Angeles during wartime
Inez and George, now with their first child, Drew, settled in their first house in Jeffersonville, IN. A little over a year later their daughter Judy was born. Answering the call to duty, George returned to duty in the Marine Corp moving the family to Oceanside, CA. Their second son, Vernon, was born. The Marine Corp took us to Sioux and then back to Southern California and watched her family grow to 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren whom she adored and cherished.
Inez had many joys in life including her love of line dancing, sewing, knitting and gardening. She also had a passion for travel and regularly visited New Zealand, Europe and the United States.
Her memory will be cherished by all that knew her.
