Shirley Carson Patrick

She was born to William (Fred) and Viola Carson on November 17, 1930, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Shirley graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1948 and married her high school classmate William (Bill) Patrick on December 30, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a career “Navy Wife” and Homemaker for over 70 years and a devoted mother to three sons, Michael (Robin) Patrick, of Brandon, Florida; Chuck (Susan) Patrick of Anna Maria, Florida; and Mark (Michelle) Patrick, of Sanford, Florida. Shirley is also survived by her husband, Bill Patrick, along with 7 Grandchildren; Tiffany Patrick Garmaza (Alex), Carson Patrick, Sean (Amber) Patrick, Bryan Patrick, Madeline Patrick, Matthew Patrick, and Micah Patrick; and 3 Great Grandchildren; Jackson Garmaza, Owen and Caleb Patrick. In addition, she will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her Father William (Fred) Carson, her Mother, Viola (Walker) Carson and her older brother Charles Milford Carson.

Shirley enjoyed a life-long passion for singing and her church. She was a mainstay in her church choirs for 7 decades. She was a member of the Wednesday Music Club of Orlando and also sang with multiple singing groups; The Juliettes, The Liberty Belles and Sweet Adelines. Shirley was also a long-time member of Christian Women’s Fellowship and held multiple leadership positions. She was a devout Christian and a member at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Orlando for over 50 years. Shirley was also very proud to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.).

There will be a small graveside service at Bushnell National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771 with a reception from 3-5 pm.
