Richard Earl Gerth

Richard “Rick” Earl Gerth, 58, of Sanford passed away on January 2, 2017 in Palm Bay Hospital. Rick was born on March 18, 1958 in Seymour, Indiana; the son of Cecil and Apphia Gerth. He was currently working as merchandise manager at Bass Pro Shops in Palm Bay. He put great effort into helping others as is witnessed by his volunteer efforts, and his eagerness to help his fellow man. Rick is survived by his wife Jennifer, his six children Lana, Natasha,Nathan, Madison, Charles and Riley, seven grandchildren Elijah, Finley, Wyatt, Sawyer, River, Dashiell and Lawson. Also surviving are his brothers Ralph, Walter, Don and Pete, sisters Carole and Alice, as well as countless nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dale, Jerry, Louis, and sister Helen. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Celebration of Life services will be Sunday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. A trust has been set up for Rick’s children at Trustco Bank. Rick’s family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers. The can be made in his honor to bothendsburning.org.
