Dedication to my beloved Mother

It is with a heavy and broken heart that I write these words to memorialize and honor a woman who meant the world to me.  

My mom was a truly caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  I could not have been more blessed.   She managed the household like a general manages his troops.   She was a strict disciplinarian and did not let us get away with nonsense.   I thank her for the way that she raised me because it made me the person that I am today.  Even though we lived modestly, she managed to make sure that we always were cared for, clothed  and had warm home cooked meals.  Let me tell you, Mama was a great cook!   

Mama loved only like a mother could love.  No matter how old we were, she always worried about us.  

Mom loved flowers and anything the color purple.   Her room was decorated with touches of purple  and new furniture fit for the queen that she was.   Every time a new visitor came to the house, she would ask me if I showed them her room.   She was happy in her space.   

Mom loved to play the game of dominoes and played it very well.  When we would visit the family in Ocala, she demanded that her only game partner be my brother in law Noel.   They made a good team.   

My Mom loved my Dad very much and every night she would pray and talk to him, asking that he watch over his children.   She was a widow for eight and a half years.  

I don’t wish to remember Mama in her sick state.  I will always remember Mama as a strong and loving woman who was independent,  tough, and outspoken.  A woman who gave everything that she had to those that she loved the most. 

I’ve been blessed to have had her living with me for the last two and a half years and truly honored to have cared for her during that time.   Thank you Mama for giving  me that opportunity.

Mama always said that  we are not eternal and that we all have to go some time.  She is now truly eternal and resting in peace.   Mama, I love you!

I know this is a very difficult time for you but hold on to our faith. she's no longer in pain she's with our Lord Jesus Christ resting in heaven she's with her husband her brothers and the rest of the family I know in my heart they're celebrating in God's glory. She's in heaven dancing with the angels May her soul rest in peace.

My titi Margarita was very good to us when we were growing up. Even though I had 10 brothers and sisters, she use to buy all of us Christmas presents. I remember the little bottle of perfume one year, and a hair brush and comb the following year. Through the years I have smelled that perfume scent twice before and It brought me memories of my titi Margarita.
When we would visit her in PR to surprise her, she would get up and prepare us a table of pasteles and white rice, with a side of salad.  The best food was her almohamadas, Titi, I will be missing you. Rest In Peace.

Mama Magarita was a wonderful person to be around. She always was so loving and caring. I always knew that when I would be around mama that I would have a good time. Mama had no filter and would say whatever was on her mind and the things that would come out of her mouth would crack anyone up. I remember specifically one day when my friend came over to visit she had the entire room laughing. She was truly a great women and will be missed. Sleep in Peace Mama Margarita.

Remembering Mama Margarita, a warm and loving mother, grandmother, and family friend. Loved her beautiful smile and personality.  She loved to play dominoes with my husband, Noel. She only wanted him as her playing partner. She was very good too.  She will always be remembered.  RIP Mama Margarita.
