Kimberly, 57, of Carbondale, Illinois passed away on May 27th, 2024, after a long battle with congestive heart failure, a battle in which she worked hard to live life to the fullest, giving generously of her wisdom and resources whenever she could.
She was born in Carbondale, Illinois on November 7th, 1966 to Troy Barnes and Margie Stanfield. Kim graduated from Carbondale Community High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She was married to Tommy Hamilton on June 30, 1994, after many years of friendship and was a devoted wife, mother, and follower of Christ. She and her husband moved down to the Orlando area in 2017.
She was a member of Greater Gillespie Temple, New Canaan, and Rhema Worship Center and had a passion for Jesus and for her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Barnes, and is survived by her husband, Tommy, and their sons, Tommy Jr., and Isaiah. Kim loved ministering with her husband Tommy, studying Black American history and the Word of God, and enjoying many vacations with her family. She lived for supporting and uplifting members of her community and enriching young people with traits and skills that she felt were vital, such as reading, education, and Godly principles.
Memorial arrangements will be held at 3 pm on May 29, 2024, in Sanford, FL at Baldwin-Fairchild.
Thank you to everyone who knew, loved, and supported her all of these years. Kim was most grateful for everyone who God had placed in her life.
