Juanita Medina

Juanita Medina, 90, passed away on August 15, 2016 in Sanford, Florida. She was born on May 16, 1926 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico to Cornelio Morales and Hermengilda Cruz. In the early 1950’s Juanita left Puerto Rico and moved to ht eBronx, New York. She remained there until 1991 when she moved to Deltona, Florida. Her last move was in April of 2016 when she moved to Atria Park at Lake Forest in Sanford, Florida.

Juanita spent most of her life performing housekeeping at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in New York. She also spent some time providing at home child care for families. She loved both of these jobs because she was able to be around others. When she was not working Juanita enjoyed cooking, traveling, listening to music and above all loved spending time with her family.

Juanita is pre-deceased by her parents, her son Edgardo Marcano and her brothers Teodoro and Carmelo and sisters Mariana, Raimunda, Paula, Maria and Berta. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Roberto Medina, her sons Ernesto Marcano, Roberto Medina Jr., her daughter Albertina “Betty” Medina-Diaz, Grandchildren Ernesto, Marcus, Myrna, Eddie, Brandon, Robert, Eric and David, great grandchildren Erica, Julissa, Nesto, Riley Adriana, Bryan, Faith, Ava and Mia and her great great grandchild Judah. Juanita also leaves behind her brother Bernardo.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm with a prayer service being held at 3:00pm. The services will take place at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford, Florida.
