Jane Elizabeth Evans, 76, of Sanford passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Jane was born on July 7, 1941 in Yakima, Washington; the daughter of Hammond and Dorothy Schneider. Jane married her husband Estel “Bud” Evans on August 28, 2957; and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Jane worked for years as a bookkeeper, before becoming self-employed until retirement. She and her family lived in Ohio for many years and moved to Florida from Illinois in 1982. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, doing ceramics, watching Nascar, researching family genealogy, and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles football team.
Jane leaves behind her husband Bud, son Douglas (Doug) Evans and his wife Nicole (Nikki) , daughter Deborah (Debbie) Burke and her husband Ron, grandchildren Joshua Evans, Brandy Evans, Rusty Williamson, Tyler Evans, Taylor Evans, Ashley Evans, Taylor Burke, Tara Sims, Robert Neukam and, great grandchildren Joshua Evans, Nicholas Evans, Alexis Burke, Hailey Burke, Preston Burke, Kalib Williamson, Matthew Neukam, Kyle Neukam, Colton Neukam, Jackson Neukam and Zane Neukam, siblings Patricia Clough, Maureen Trabert, Linda Brecht, Hammond Schneider, Terrie Weinand, and Kathy Gustavson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery. For those who wish, the family suggests donation be made in lieu of flowers to The American Cancer Society in Jane’s honor.
