James Perry, age 92, died on January 31, 2025 at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida after an extended struggle with various health issues. James was born May 1, 1932 in Kinston, North Carolina, the son of Benjamin Perry and Corinna Simmons.
James enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and being with his family. James married the love of his life Bertha Mae Perry and moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he was a school bus driver for 30 years.
James is survived by his daughter Sandra Perry and grandson Jorfred Nieves of Deltona, FL; son Michael Perry of Barrington, NJ; daughter Bernell Perry of South Carolina; granddaughter Jaquette Perry of Dorchester, MA; granddaughter Ciera Tate of Bettendorf, IA; grandson Aaron Tate of Austin, TX; great grandchildren Tatyana Brown of Dorchester, MA, Andrew Robinson of Dorchester, MA and Cordae Tate of Bettendorf, IA.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771 with interment to follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery.
