As a young man he enjoyed Florida life to its fullest, spending many hours of his youth exploring local waterways and performing as a water skier. On February 25, 1955 he married Jacklyn Bryant. They shared 62+ years of marriage.
James worked with Florida Power and Light in various locations in Florida for over three decades. After retirement in Ft. Lauderdale he opened his own business until he and Jackie permanently retired to Daytona and enjoyed the beachside life.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory three children, two sons, Joel Manning and wife Laura of DeLand, Florida, Jerome Manning and wife Laurie of Sebastian, Florida, daughter Jamelle Janniche and husband Roy of Franklin, Indiana. He had 8 grandchildren: Drew Manning and wife Jennifer, Kevin Manning and wife Alisha, Bryant Manning and wife Allison, CJ Manning and wife Kyrie, Robert Janniche, Matthew Janniche and wife Sara, Katherine Mandese and husband Anthony, and Paul Janniche along with 7 great grandchildren Alexys Manning, Tyler Manning, Christie Manning, Eleana Janniche, Collins Manning, Hazel Janniche and Michael Manning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, dear wife Jackie in 2017, and infant son James Audie Manning in 1956.
Graveside services will be held in Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Sanford, Florida on Sunday May 5 at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow.
