James (Jim) Gritt, 80, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 following a short battle with lung cancer. He was a graduate of Buffalo High School in West Virginia. James worked tirelessly as an entrepreneur for his family business, Gritt’s Midway Greenhouse. James was an avid grower and salesman and enjoyed every aspect of the greenhouse.
He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and a Master Mason of Kanawha County Lodge no 36. He loved to do woodworking and gardening in his free time. He loved his wife, family, friends and everyone in his life.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Tony Gritt Jr. and Hada Lunsford Gritt.
James is survived by his loving wife; Ann Gritt, his children, Penny (Matt) Goff, William (Natalie) Gritt, Nicole (James) George, Toni (Derick) Brown. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Jakob, Jilliann, Easton, Brantley, Audrey, and Bennett, as well as his two sisters (Anna Mae and Mary).
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Funeral Home, in Sanford, Florida.
