Jack Lanier passed October 11, 2020 at 11:55 p.m., one day before his 63rd wedding anniversary to Mary Jo Deal Lanier. Jack was born in Metter, Georgia to Grady and Beulah Lanier on September 21, 1935. He graduated Valedictorian of his class at Metter High School, and attended Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, Georgia. Jack was a lumber man selling hardwood lumber, operating two warehouses in Orlando FL during the beginning of Disney World. He owned and operated a Lumber Company in Longwood FL, and his last twenty-five years were selling Real Estate. Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Lanier, and his three children, Doug, Lynn, and Allison. Doug and Joyce Lanier live in Winter Springs, Florida, and is owner of Collins Roofing in Longwood. Lynn L. and Daniel Shambach live in Fayetteville, North Carolina and is retired. Allison L. and Bryan Jones live in Atlanta, Georgia and is owner and operator of Insight Design in Atlanta, Georgia. Jack is survived by his sister, Octavia Smith, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in Jack's honor to the ASPCA.
